Providing hope, healing, and a safe haven for those touched by cancer.

Every Hospitality House needs great people to keep the home safe, clean and welcoming, especially for those coming to Spokane for cancer treatment. Mary and Dan Shegrud are the house managers for Because There Is Hope’s “Hospitality House”, Faye’s House. They have been the resident hosts since January 2016. Along with their dog Copper, they try to make everyone who stays at Faye’s House feel like family. Several of the guests have become lifelong friends of theirs. The two stay very busy, and when there’s time Dan enjoys going fishing in his boat that he has dubbed Bob. While he does have a fulltime job elsewhere Dan has recently finished and published his latest novel. Mary has several activities to occupy any spare time she might have including gardening, quilt making, crochet, to name a few, with a newly acquired interest in English dressage horse riding lessons.

Here is a message from a past guest of Faye’s House.  “This is 100% better than staying at a motel. Very homey atmosphere. We cooked our meals and socialized with house managers and another guest.” – Virginia, Orofino, ID
